This kit is one I wish I'd bashed to make the egg more realistic.  One good point is that the eyes are handpainted.  I've had a lot of people remark on the eyes and be surprised to find out they are not taxidermy.
Below are a few examples of the kits I've built for others and a few for myself. My one regret is that I was not more adventurous and creative with the color schemes, for instance, using more grey variations as demonstrated by the one bust I painted, pictured further down, although I was typically following the preferences of the customer for whom I was building the kit. I have begun working on new model kits after a long hiatus from kit building and I will definitely be painting the models in a varied, much more creative way.

Having considered all the other T. rex models that I could find -- and there are many excellent models out there -- in my opinion, Tony McVey's 1:30 scale Tyrannonosaurus rex stands out because of his committment to paleontological accuracy, his refined artistry and the overall aesthetic quality of the piece. I base my opinion on my study of T. rex fossils and consideration of research on the anatomy of Tyrannosaurus rex and other theropods. My background in physical anthropology and human anatomy has been helpful in this process. Unfortunately, Tony no longer sells paleontological model kits, so if you have one of these, consider yourself extremely lucky.
